If you’re tired of your dull, embarrassing smile and you’re interested in using a whitening treatment in Madison, New Jersey, then our Family Dentistry team encourages you to think about a few things before you take the first treatment step. We encourage you to consider the following things:

What does your dentist say?
Unfortunately, there are tooth stains that can’t be corrected with teeth-whitening treatments. Teeth whitening is also discouraged if you have sensitive teeth, gum disease, and worn tooth enamel. So, it’s best to meet with your dentist and make sure teeth whitening will give you the stunning and beautiful results you are looking for.

Is teeth whitening worth the cost?
Keep in mind that some in-office whitening treatments might not be covered by your dental insurance. So, it’s best to call your insurance and make sure the treatment is covered before you start treatment.

Should you use an over-the-counter or professional treatment?
Over-the-counter and in-office whitening treatments are very different. Over-the-counter treatments can be performed within the walls of your own home, but they might take some time to provide successful results. In-office treatments are quick and easy, and they usually give you the results you are looking for within one or two appointments. The results you receive from in-office treatments will also last longer than the results you receive from over-the-counter treatments.
